Let's get this weekend off to a nice start with a very rare Blues and vocal Argo side by Jimmy Grissom! Grissom is perhaps best known as the vocalist for Duke Ellington (1952-58) (I only heard of him before from his very brief cameo on Duke at Newport) before fading into obscurity. This is far as I can tell his first and only solo side. Some nice vocal stylings from Grissom with some nice support by the John Young Trio and Jay Peters on Sax. Another ultimate Argo/Cadet rarity, as this has never been reissued. Fidelity good, some slight problems on the last track, however shouldn't impede listening.
