I'm taking a break from my regular archival Argo digging by posting a nice lost and forgotten Impulse! side by the great jazz organist Shirley Scott! I really adore Shirley, she's becoming one of my favorite groove artists. This side A-73 is a bit of an orphan in the initial Impulse 9000 series, as it was never released by itself on CD; it only came out on an impossible to find 2 for 1 Japan CD, and excerpted as bonus tracks on another Impulse reissue. Now we can fully evaluate this side on its own terms; Shirley's organ playing is more subtle and graceful than other organists, and her then husband - MR T - Stanley Turrentine gives her some nice support. Excellent Fidelity

    Brilliant diggin' mate.The combination of Jones and Turrentine is a great one and I have quite a few albums from this era,however I don't have this one and appreciate your efforts to share a good dose of soul jazz.Thanks
