Ramsey Lewis - Bossa Nova

Ramsey Lewis - Piano
Eldee Young - Bass
Red Holt - Drums

+
Josef Paulo - Guitar & Pandeiro, Vocals on B3
Carmen Costa - Cabaca, Vocals on A4

Recorded - September 22 & 25, 1962, Yamaha Studio, San Fransisco

Supervision - Ralph Bass
Engineer - Reis Hamel
Cover - Wardell Gaynor

Released - November 24, 1962

Continuing my Ramsey Lewis Argo series, this is a nice side with the trio's take on the then burgeoning Bossa Nova craze of 1962-63. Unlike a myriad of other jazz artists who tried to capitalize on the movement, this is a credible take that ages rather well, probably thanks to the guest Brazilian players that the trio recruited to the session. Good fidelity off the original Argo mono deep groove vinyl.
